DANIEL S. MCCOY MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
PSYCHIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER

"I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) continuing to build upon my 7+ years of experience in a variety of psychiatric and behavioral healthcare settings. As an Iowa native and someone who feels so passionately about mental health, I am beyond excited to foster accessible care through telepsychiatry services across the states of Iowa, Minnesota, and New York. At this time, I provide services in Iowa, Minnesota, and New York via telepsychiatry and also treat patients in the acute inpatient hospital setting in New York City. My current hospital affiliations are with New York Health and Hospitals and St. Joseph's Medical Center. My treatment approach utilizes aspects of CBT, complementary therapies, and the mindset that medication is a tool, not the solution. I also believe that a mental health diagnosis by no means defines an individual, it simply helps conceptualize a current level of understanding about the patient's presenting symptoms and circumstances and is meant to be refined to best attain the supports and services needed for optimal outcomes and long-term success. I view patient care as a collaborative venture and it would be my privilege to join you in your pursuit of mental wellness."

"

Daniel was the first provider I’ve dealt with for medication management that listened and understood my situation and concerns. In a short time working with him through zoom (phone) sessions, he was able to get my medication in control and helped me figure out what I needed to do. I am beyond thankful for such an expert with great advice. I put my full trust in him, and in return have never felt better in my life. Thank you for all you have done. Eternally grateful.

Honestly was treated with respect and was diagnosed with something I suspected I have.
